How to Obtain a Jordan E-visa for Filipinos who are Philippines Passport Holders

My name is Natalia, and I possess an ordinary passport from the Philippines. Recently, I was issued a multiple-entry Schengen visa (type C) by the Hungarian Consulate to Berehove, Ukraine. My Schengen visa is valid for more than eight months, a crucial requirement for applying for a Jordanian E-visa for any Filipinos who want to enter Jordan for tourism purposes.

These are the steps that I went through to secure a single-entry Jordan tourist E-visa for Filipinos. I highly suggest you prepare a scanned copy of your passport and Schengen visa just in case you need to upload it during the e-visa application process. The following procedures require enormous patience, especially if you are a newbie to online applications. Sometimes, you will encounter several hoops to bypass security verification, and sometimes, you might encounter error messages. However, you can do this!

A. Create an account or Sign Up

1. Visit Jordan’s Ministry of Interior’s E-services Site. Please note that the link can change at any time. Also, on their website, there is an option to download an application that works on a smartphone. In my example, I show the application done using a laptop and a web browser. I tried the smartphone application version; however, the verification code did not work there at the time.

Click on the ‘Create New Account‘ button. On the next page, click the registration type ‘Individual‘, and you will be redirected to a new page where you need to enter a confirmation code, and click the ‘Validate‘ button. On the next page is the ‘New User Registration Form’, and there is essential information that you need to read before clicking on the ‘Create Application‘ button.

The first part is called ‘Registration Information’. In my case, I am a citizen of the Philippines only, and I have never been to Jordan. Hence, I chose ‘No‘ under the question relating to foreign ID. Then, click on the ‘Next’ button.

The next part is ‘Personal Information’—the form changes whether you indicate your marital status as single or married. You must supply information about your mother and spouse’s name if married. The last question is whether you are an investor or not. I chose ‘No’. If you choose yes, you must supply ‘Investment Information’ such as organization name, registration number, etc. Then, click the ‘Next‘ button.

The next part is ‘Passport Information’. The most important part is to fill in only the mandatory field with a red asterisk. As Filipinos, we have a different naming convention. Hence, leave the ‘Father Name’ and ‘Grandfather Name’ blank. The passport type is normal, and pay attention to the format of the date of issue and validity. The issue place should be ‘Philippines’ even if your passport was issued by an embassy (for example, the Philippines Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia). Then, it is necessary to upload the soft copy of the passport bio page. It’s ideal to upload an image of the passport in a format of less than 512 kilobytes. Then, click the ‘Next‘ button.

The next part is ‘Contact Information’. It requires your current residence address, valid email address, and mobile number. Please pay attention to how to format the mobile number. Then, enter your login information (the username could be the email address, and the password must be in strong format). Then, click the ‘Next’ button so that you will be able to access the page to enter the verification code and submit the registration.

B. Log in to your Account and Create an E-visa Application

Assuming the new user registration was successful, you should be able to log in to the E-services system and create a single-entry Jordanian E-visa for tourism purposes. You should note that the system requires you to enter verification codes to access the dashboard successfully.

After logging in, you will find the dashboard that looks like this screenshot below:

Start by clicking on ‘Visa Applications’ from the main menu. A pop-up box will appear; click ‘Nationalities that do not require prior approval’. Then, click’ Electronic Visa’ on the subsequent pop-up box.

On the next page, you will start the Electronic Entry Visa process by indicating ‘non-Arabic’ as the Nationality category. On the next page, you must indicate that you possess a Schengen visa, provide all information about this and click the ‘Next’ button afterwards.

The next part is all about personal information. Like in the previous advice, leave the text fields for ‘Father’s Name’ and ‘Grandfather’s name’ blank. Below this section, you will find the ‘Application Information’. In my experience, the system prefilled the visa period with ‘Three Months – Single Entry’. You must only select the ‘Visa Purpose’, ‘ Tourism.’ You will also see that the price was 40 Jordanian Dinars.

The next step is to check the checkbox to acknowledge that you entered the correct information and will be responsible for any mistakes. To move to the payment phase, click the ‘Next’ button. The payment page will reflect that the system has generated a unique application number and that you must pay to receive the single-entry Jordan e-visa.

In my payment experience, after clicking the Pay button, the system redirected me to a page where I had to pay, but the only option was to pay using a Jordanian bank account. If this happens to you, do not worry; just hit back or leave this page and go back to the main menu. Then, you click on ‘Submitted Applications’ to find your application with the status waiting for payment. There should be an option to click a link to pay using an International credit or debit card (e.g. Visa, MasterCard, etc.).

After successfully paying for the visa, you should see a message on the webpage informing you that you completed the entire process and that the system emailed the Jordan e-visa for tourism to your email address. Just check your email and download the PDF file. You must print this and bring it before leaving for the airport on travel day!

Below is a sample single-entry E-visa issued by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan’s Ministry of Interior. Once again, I could apply this way because I am a Filipino or Philippines citizen and a holder of a multiple-entry Schengen visa type C, valid for over 6 months. Please pay attention to the notes inside the e-visa. We should never forget that the Jordan border police have the final say whether they let a foreigner in the country regardless of their possession of an E-visa. Let’s hope that everything goes well for Filipino tourists.
